The successful release of my new album, Bluer Than Velvet: The Prysock Project, plus the thrilling response we received for our two sets at Patti & Allan Harris' 2 Great Days of Jazz industry showcase at the APAP | NYC conference and the tumult of the Jazz Congress at J@LC have taken all my focus lately. Happily, it's all gone really well. But add in the current political climate & the weather, and, man! I sure could use a breather to make some music — just for the fun of it!
So, I'm bringing this noteworthy trio to the lovely Bar Next Door at La Lanterna di Vittorio in Greenwich Village this Monday night to have fun making some beautiful music for you.
I'm thrilled to return to this picturesque & intimate setting — it's like singing for you in your living room. It'll be fun being back in this romantic Village Café, with its cozy '50's feel, singing for our friends & neighbors!
So, leave your woes & that last headline or billing cycle behind & wander over to 129 MacDougal St. (bet. W. 4th & W. 3rd Sts.) to join moi, E.J. Decker (deep baritone vocals) along with the dual mastery of Freddie Bryant (guitar) and Hilliard Greene (bass) for a Monday evening of lush, romantic music, mostly ballads and blues — just the thing to warm the soul on a cold winter's night. We'll be focusing on the Songbook's best songs of love & possibility from all corners of the canon, including some songs I haven't sung in some time, and perhaps even a song of mine. It'll be exciting to re-explore all of it.
Come enjoy some music, mingle with some other great folks, have some hearty food, a vino, a hot toddy, a decadent desert, laugh, relax, listen — now THAT'S a perfect evening.
The music begins at 8:30pm & ends close to midnight.
